We are delighted to announce that the LabourPains website is now available in 50 languages, covering the most commonly spoken languages in the UK.
This important development will help ensure that many more women, birthing people and their families can access high-quality, evidence-based information about pain relief in labour in a language they understand. By improving access to reliable information, we hope to support informed decision-making during pregnancy and labour while helping to reduce inequalities in maternity care information.
"We are delighted to make the Labour Pains website more accessible to the diverse communities we serve, helping to ensure that language is less of a barrier to understanding the options available for pain relief during labour," said Dr Gemma Crossingham, Chair of the LabourPains Sub-committee.
"Every woman and birthing person deserves access to clear, trustworthy information to support their choices during labour. Making the website available in 50 languages is an important step towards more equitable access to evidence-based maternity information."
